Although they didn’t win it, the New England Patriots came thisclose to making Super Bowl history at Super Bowl XLII in February. The New York Giants just would not be denied, however, and they ultimately triumphed 17–14 in the final minutes of the game, dashing the hometown team’s dream of achieving a historic perfect season.
Still, the most recent Super Bowl was one for the record books, and it will definitely be remembered forever as a formidable display of why so many find football *the* sport to follow.

Wow!!! That was some intense football coverage for the last ten minutes or so of tonight’s Super Bowl XLII match-up between the stunning New England Patriots and the dogged New York Giants.
If you haven’t heard yet, the Pats did not succeed in attaining a history-making perfect record, instead falling 17–14 to their tenacious opponents during the final part of the game.

Today is the day, meaning Super Bowl Sunday, of course.
Television coverage of the historic NFL championship game begins at 2pm EST sharp on Fox, starting with the Pregame Show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The afternoon festivities will be hosted by American Idol talking head Ryan Seacrest and will drag on until 6pm, when Super Bowl XLI gets officially underway. Well, they did it!
Sunday afternoon’s 21–12 defeat over the San Diego Chargers earned the New England Patriots a spot in the Super Bowl XLII championship. On February 3, the team will go head-to-head against the New York Giants in Glendale, Arizona, once again reminding me that I’ve spent all but a few years of my life living in two of the United States’ most accomplished states pro sports-wise.
