Super Bowl XLII Official Game Program Giveaway

Although they didn’t win it, the New England Patriots came thisclose to making Super Bowl history at Super Bowl XLII in February. The New York Giants just would not be denied, however, and they ultimately triumphed 17–14 in the final minutes of the game, dashing the hometown team’s dream of achieving a historic perfect season.
Still, the most recent Super Bowl was one for the record books, and it will definitely be remembered forever as a formidable display of why so many find football *the* sport to follow.
In the next few days, I’m giving readers the opportunity to win one of two Official Super Bowl XLII Game Programs (Retail Value $15, if you can find one now, that is) to commemorate one of the greatest NFL championship games ever. The contest is offered in conjunction with the quarterly Bloggy Giveaways Carnival taking place this week all around the Web.
The magazine-sized game program contains 288 color pages of pure NFL goodness, ranging from informative articles to full-page photo rosters for each competing team. If you’re into football or know someone who is, the program is worth owning and keeping around far into the future. It’s truly a collector’s item.
To enter the contest, simply leave a comment on this post, using a valid email address, and state which NFL team is your favorite and why. You can leave a comment without those details, but keep in mind that only people who include the requested information will be eligible to win a game program.
The giveaway is open to residents of the United States only, and the entry deadline is Monday, April 28, at 6pm EST. Please, only one entry per person. I’ll contact the lucky winners after I chose them at random on April 28 in order to get their postal address. If I don’t receive a response within three days, a replacement will be chosen.
Visit the Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival website to discover many additional items up for grabs during the event, and good luck to all the entrants here!

Can I name a team that is from the past? I used to have season tickets to the L.A. Rams when they played in Los Angeles. Since they moved, I don’t follow them any more. If I had to pick a team of today, it might be the Cowboys…I’ve been watching them for years. [I removed the email address for your privacy, Audrey, since it wasn’t essential here. I still have it from the email field.]

Patriots are the one and only favorite in the house! (My second daughter — with just a “little” prompting from Daddy — actually said “touchdown” with her hands up in the air making the sign for her first word! — And for a Pats game of course!) My husband grew up in Boston, I went to college there. We’d love the book!

I grew up being a fan of the Chicago Bears simply through osmosis because my brothers were insane fans. It has stuck with me and since I lived in Chicago for a while, it really struck home with me. We lived there during the heyday of the 1985 Super Bowl win and hope to relive those glory days again someday.

I like the Rams. Even though they’ve been in St. Louis for a while now I used to be a fan clear back in the late 1940s when they were a Los Angeles franchise. Having them leave was as big a blow to me as having the Dodgers move to L.A. must have been to Brooklyn fans.

I am a New York Giants fan, a New York Jets fan also. As you can probably tell I am originally from the Big Apple. To make it complete, I am also a New York Yankees fan. I love the rivalry between both cities in both sports. Now, if only the Boston Bruins were good enough, we could have another rivalry with the New York Rangers in hockey!!

Growing up in Central New York State, I was, literally, in the transition zone between the Giants and the Bills. I grew up cheering for both teams, but I will have to say that my loyalties lie with the Buffalo Bills; a blue collar team from a blue collar city that lives and dies by their team’s successes and failures. The City of Buffalo embraces the true meaning of football fan loyalty.

the Carolina Panthers- there my favorite team because all the football announcers kept bashing them when they started -saying how they were going to lose. I couldn’t believe the announcers- so I vowed to root for them because they needed some positive vibes- and that year they did- they went all the way to Super Bowl-they lost(to the stinking Patriots -yuck) -but they tried hard.
