Got Ice Cream?

Even if you do, mega successful, socially conscious, and very grateful Vermont ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s wants to give you more … tomorrow … for free!
Free Cone Day, the annual tradition held in honor of loyal customers that first began on May 5, 1979, enters its 29th year tomorrow, just in time for the company’s 30th birthday. So, make sure to set aside time during your busy schedule on Tuesday to stop by your local scoop shop and take advantage of the company’s generosity. You can find out if a shop near you is participating in the event at the business’ handy Scoop Shop Locator.
For the few who don’t already know, not only is Ben & Jerry’s ice cream fabulous, but you’ll save a bundle on Free Cone Day since it’s also not the cheapest treat around. If you’re used to buying ice cream by the container in the supermarket or snacking on $1 cones at Mickey D’s, you know exactly what I mean.
Better yet for those of us who don’t like licking things in public (for whatever reasons, and I’m not revealing mine), you can also get the good stuff in a cup with a spoon for no extra charge.
Thanks Ben & Jerry. I’ll see ya tomorrow during the off-peak hours so I can avoid the insane lines!
FYI: Many participating scoop shops will have local charities on hand accepting donations during the festivities. Consequently, anybody who wants to feel loved and loving at the same time need only hand over what they would normally pay for the ice cream to the philanthropic organizations.
