Fun and B-Ball Games with the Harlem Globetrotters

Amazing. The Harlem Globetrotters have been around since 1926. And, no, the name of the group isn’t an indication the members are exclusively from or first came together in Harlem. The comedic basketball team actually originated in Chicago, Illinois, as simply the Globetrotters.
The name of the famous African-American community in New York City was added because it instantly called to mind — you guessed it — the African-American community, as well as the identity of the players themselves. We can all thank London-born, 5′3″ Abe Saperstein (1902–1966) for giving the world such an enduring and entertaining gift.
The Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their fun-filled comedy act to the Bay State this weekend, playing Saturday and Sunday dates at Boston’s entertainment and sports arena TD Banknorth Garden (100 Legends Way, Downtown North, Boston, 617-624-1331). Action begins at 7:30pm on Saturday and 12:30pm on Sunday, with doors opening an hour in advance, and tickets to both shows cost $19, $27, $35, $52, $82, and $152.
This is one athletic event that everyone can enjoy, even if a person hates basketball or sports in general, which makes the Harlem Globetrotters a great pick for a family outing this weekend. [More Information]
