In addition to the seven Saturday dates already established — May 31, June 14, June 28, July 12, July 26, August 23, and September 20 — DOTC is sponsoring creative hookups with artists to produce special flyers and promotional clothing for each event.

People who purchase tickets in advance of their desired event will pay a flat fee of ten bucks. The last comes courtesy of in-house chef Rebecca Newell, who will use her culinary talent to whip up such savory à la carte treats as House-made Bangers with Bubble & Squeak ($11), Irish Pub Salad ($11), Lamb, Barley & Parsnip Stew ($22), Wild Irish Salmon Shepard’s Pie ($22), and — my personal favorite since I was born with an unshakeable sweet tooth — Apple-Oatmeal Crisp with Irish Whiskey Cream ($7.50). Yummm! And, no, the bar will not forget the Guinness on the side.

As for the live entertainment, Boston’s own resident DJ and keyboardist Brother Cleve will take the stage from 6pm–8pm, while Robert Emmet Dunlap and Hogan’s Goat will assume musical duties from 8pm–12:30am. All of this and more is available free of cover charge, although attendees do have to pay for the drinks and food (of course!). To show appreciation, The Beehive is even throwing in a few “mini surprises,” the exact nature of which I know not. Still, I’ll go ahead and guess a little green will be involved.

The Beehive’s Bee Irish event is co-sponsored by the Boston Irish Tourism Association, so you pretty much know beforehand that the celebration’s going to be nothing but good times.

Post from: The Boston Traveler

Valentine’s Day at The Beehive

Events

Nightlife

beehive

boston

clubs

love ball

massachusetts

new england

nightclubs

ryan landry

south end

valentines day

Happy Love Day, readers! Both promoters have been intimately involved with arts-oriented events in the Boston area in the past, and their current endeavor aims to continue the tradition free of charge and in a different venue each night. The ultimate goal is for attendees to spot something they like and then help support the local art community by purchasing a piece or three.

Learn more about what’s coming up during this weeklong celebration of sorts at the Artweek website, which includes information about how to commission participating artists, as well as purchase their work.
