Randy believes the Dallas Cowboys are the best NFL team because they’re America’s Team, while Mitch says almost the same about the Super Bowl-winning Giants, with the added observation that New York’s team colors are even red, white, and blue. As the responses to this giveaway demonstrate, it looks like America has lots of teams, as well as lots of diehard fans to support them.

Still, the most recent Super Bowl was one for the record books, and it will definitely be remembered forever as a formidable display of why so many find football *the* sport to follow.

In the next few days, I’m giving readers the opportunity to win one of two Official Super Bowl XLII Game Programs (Retail Value $15, if you can find one now, that is) to commemorate one of the greatest NFL championship games ever. When Stevens’ parents ask him to return home for their 50th wedding anniversary, the entertainment personality does, and he brings along his ten-year-old son, new wife, and misunderstanding that since he’s a media star now, his family and old neighbors will treat him with due respect. Of course, he’s wrong.

Now that the holiday season is over, my wallet is suffering big time as a result of all the money I spent on gifts and holiday preparations. As is often the case with Englishman Day-Lewis, Blood is a period film, this one loosely based on the 1927 Upton Sinclair novel Oil! and set among aspiring tycoons at the turn of the 20th century. It’s already been nominated for two Golden Globes, one for Best Picture and another for Day-Lewis in the Best Actor category, which strongly hints that seeing the 158-minute epic will be time well spent.
