Upset! New York Giants Take Super Bowl XLII
Wow!!! That was some intense football coverage for the last ten minutes or so of tonight’s Super Bowl XLII match-up between the stunning New England Patriots and the dogged New York Giants.
If you haven’t heard yet, the Pats did not succeed in attaining a history-making perfect record, instead falling 17–14 to their tenacious opponents during the final part of the game.
I’ve been busy taking screenshots of news websites’ front pages to commemorate this unforgettable day in NFL history, and I share them all after the jump. The Pats might not have won, but today’s championship game is still definitely one for the history books.

Since the game ended, I have been fielding scads of phone calls from my upset friends that live in Boston. I’ve told all of them the same thing: You still have the Red Sox and spring training is just around the corner!
You are very correct, Heather. I have to admit, though–that perfect season was so darn close, it really smarts to have lost “The Big One” at the very last minute like that.
I’m no football fan myself, but even I was glued to the tube during this Super Bowl. That was some truly thrilling action. I can’t believe it’s over…
And lest I forget, Congrats to the Giants! The guys on the team did a tremendous job to give New York a stunning victory. I still remember how good it feels to be in the state when the home teams accomplish something phenomenal. Soak it up!
